ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowboys soccer team fell 2-0 to the No. 4 Trinity Tigers on Thursday night at the HSU Soccer Complex.
Hardin-Simmons held strong on defense in the first half holding the Tigers scoreless but were unable to push any across themselves and went to half with no score.
The Cowboys kept Trinity off the board until the 55
th minute, with the Tigers getting a goal up and in. Trinity followed with an insurance goal in the 56
th minute to take the lead for a final score of 2-0.
Hardin-Simmons shot three times and Trinity shot 18 times with eight shots on goal. Trinity led in corner kicks with four to one for HSU.
Carson Null started at goalkeeper for the Cowboys and had six saves in the loss in full time.
The Cowboys fell to 3-4 and will play the No. 20 Christopher Newport Captains on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the HSU Soccer Complex.
