TUNICA, Miss. – Hardin-Simmons' men's golf team finished with a fourth-place finish at the Rhodes Invitational at the Tunica National Golf Course in Tunica, Miss.
The Cowboys shot a 301 on Tuesday and finished with a 295-299-301-895 total. Transylvania won the tournament with a 286-293-295-874 total. Rhodes was second with an 886, followed by Rose-Hulman with an 889. Mississippi University for Women finished out the top five one stroke behind the Cowboys.
Harrison Cox led the Cowboys on Monday with a 73 and finished 18
th overall in the tournament with a 74-75-73-222.
Tyler Merchant led the Cowboys in the event and he finished 10
th with a 72-74-74-222. Freshman
Caden Fields shot 74-76-76-226 to place 20
th overall.
Kade Burton had 79-72-81-232 total and fellow freshman
Carson Rosser shot 83-74-78-235.
Andy Stead of Transylvania won the individual title with a 67-73-73-213 total.
The Cowboys will next be in action at the Golfweek Classic at Sandestin Resort and Club in Destin, Fla. On Oct. 12-14.
