ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl tennis team had ten wins in the opening round of the ITA Southwest Regional to start this weekend hosted at the Streich Tennis Center at Hardin-Simmons.
Brenna Gordon won over UMHB in round one and defeated Southwestern in the second round to play in the round of 16 on Saturday.
Sydney Tomlin had a win over Southwestern and a win over Concordia Texas in the second round to advance in the A singles.
Emma Curiel and
Taylor Levy both picked up wins in the first round for the Cowgirls in A singles as well.
Talyn Hardy won over Dallas and Texas Lutheran to advance to the quarterfinals in the B singles bracket.
Kasey Fitzer defeated Letourneau and Austin College to advance to the B singles quarterfinals for the Cowgirls.
The Cowgirls also continued to win with two doubles teams in the A bracket that will compete in the quarterfinals on Saturday.
Sydney Tomlin and
Brenna Gordon defeated UMHB in the second round after a win over LeTourneau in the first round.
Addyson Tylaska and
Taylor Levy also won two rounds of A doubles, winning against Austin College and UMHB to advance to the quarterfinals Saturday.
Talyn Hardy and
Kasey Fitzer won the second round of B doubles over Schreiner after a bye in the first round to advance to the semifinals.
The ITA Southwest Regional hosted by Hardin-Simmons at the Streich Tennis Center continue on Saturday morning.
