ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl tennis B doubles team of Talyn Hardy and Kasey Fitzer won the final at the ITA Southwest Regional on Saturday at the Streich Tennis Center hosted by Hardin-Simmons.
 
Hardy and Fitzer combined for a win in the B doubles final 8-4 against Velasco/Snyder from the Univ. of St. Thomas.
 
Freshman Cowgirl Talyn Hardy won two matches on Saturday in the B singles quarterfinals and semifinals to reach the championship final on Sunday. Hardy won the B singles championship final by default. Fitzer made it to the B singles semifinal for the Cowgirls as well.
 
Sydney Tomlin and Brenna Gordon competed in the round of 16 for the A singles bracket and fell after opening with two wins in the opening rounds of the ITA regional.
 
Halle Smith continued in the A singles consolation and won the round of 16 and the quarterfinal match before falling in the consolation semifinal in a split set.
 
The Cowgirl A doubles teams of Tomlin/Gordon and Addyson Tylaska/Taylor Levy both fell in the quarterfinal round on Saturday.
 
The Cowgirls will continue on Sunday at the Streich Tennis Center hosted by Hardin-Simmons.
