IRVING, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl cross country team had two inside the top three runners at the University of Dallas Invitational on Saturday morning, with Jasmin Mendez placing second and Abigail Cox coming in third.
 
Six Cowgirls ran in the race on Saturday in Irving. Mendez led the squad with a time of 22:19 in the 5k for second place.
 
Abigail Cox ran a 5k time of 22:46 for the Cowgirls and finished in third. Hope Fuentes also finished in the top ten with a time of 24:38.
 
Alexis Heckathorn ran a race of 27:10 for HSU. Faith Miller and Hannah Chilando also competed at the University of Dallas on Saturday.
 
The Cowgirls will travel to run in Kerrville, Texas hosted by Schreiner on September 20.
