DALLAS, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl tennis team was picked to finish second in the 2026 American Southwest Conference women's tennis preseason poll, voted on by league head coaches and announced on Wednesday.
The Cowgirls received 13 points and one first place vote after a 3-1 record in ASC play in 2025 under head coach
Shane Williford. UMHB led the women's poll with 15 points and three first place votes. ETBU had eight points in the poll and Howard Payne had four.
The Cowgirls will return five all-ASC players from a year ago.
Sydney Tomlin,
Emma Curiel,
Taylor Levy,
Addyson Tylaska, and
Halle Smith are all back for the Cowgirls, with Tomlin having been named the ASC Freshman of the Year in 2025.

Sydney Tomlin were both named 2026 ASC women's tennis Players to Watch for the upcoming season.
The season begins for HSU on Feb. 14 as the Cowgirls will host the Univ. of St. Thomas and Texas Wesleyan beginning at 9 a.m. at the Streich Tennis Center in Abilene.
