KERRVILLE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl basketball team took the win by 32 points over Schreiner on Saturday with a final score of 81-49 against the Mountaineers.
Hardin-Simmons led 20-11 after one quarter and went up 37-21 at the half. The Cowgirls finished the win with quarters of 25 and 19 points in the big win on Saturday.
Caroline Croft had 20 points to lead the Cowgirls, shooting 7-for-13 and sinking 6-of-7 free throws. She's second on the team averaging 8.5 points a game for HSU this year and at Schreiner was her second day with 20 points in the last three games for the Cowgirls.
Jacqueline Berry finished with 16 points and ten rebounds for the double-double for HSU. She added three assists and three steals for Hardin-Simmons on Saturday. Berry leads the Cowgirls with 15.3 points a game and 6.3 rebounds a game this season.
Hardin-Simmons shots 50 percent and held Schreiner to shooting 36 percent in the contest. In the big win, 13 different Cowgirls finished with a bucket.
Hardin-Simmons ended the weekend 12-3 and will take next week off of competition before heading to play at Claremont Mudd Scrips in California on January 16 at noon CST.
