GLADEWATER, Texas – Behind a top-five individual performance from Carson Rosser, Hardin-Simmons sits fifth after the opening 36 holes of the 2026 Energy Weldfab Tempest Intercollegiate at Tempest Golf Club on Monday.
 
The Cowboys posted rounds of 306 and 303 to finish the day at 33-over-par 609, five shots behind fourth-place St. Thomas (Texas) and 13 shots off the tournament lead entering Tuesday's final round.
 
Rosser paced Hardin-Simmons with a two-round total of 147 (72-75), good for a share of fourth place on the individual leaderboard. Rosser opened with an even-par 72 in the first round before adding a 3-over 75 in the afternoon round.
 
Keaton Blume is tied for 15th after carding a 152 (79-73). Blume posted one of the best rounds of the day for the Cowboys in the second round, firing a 1-over-par 73.
 
Caden Fields is tied for 21st at 154 (78-76), while Peyton Gallaway sits 34th with a 158 (77-81). Jake Koeninger rounded is in 45th place at 161 (82-79). Riley Ellison is 58th after rounds of 85 and 82 for a 167 total.
 
LeTourneau leads the tournament at 20-over-par 596 after rounds of 296 and 300. McMurry is second at 599, followed by LeTourneau B at 602 and St. Thomas (Texas) at 604. Hardin-Simmons enters the final round at 609.
 
Individually, McMurry's Kendrick Hoster leads the field at 2-under-par 142, holding a one-shot advantage over St. Thomas (Texas) golfer Aasher Barrows.
 
The 54-hole tournament concludes Tuesday with the final 18 holes beginning at 8:30 a.m.
