HOLLAND, Mich. – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl basketball team dropped a game at No. 12 ranked Hope 63-57 on Wednesday night in Michigan.
The Cowgirls trailed by two points after the first quarter but took the lead on Hope heading into halftime up 33-27. The Flying Dutch had a big third quarter to take the lead and held off the Cowgirls late to win by six points.
Abbie Crow led all Cowgirls with 13 points, hitting three shots from long range.
Savannah Bennett led HSU in rebounding with 12 rebounds in the game and added a block.
Jacqueline Berry scored 12 points on the lion's share of the Cowgirl offensive attempts, finished with six rebounds, and tied her career-high with six steals on defense.
Caroline Croft shot 5-for-10 with ten points and led the team with three assists, adding three more steals on defense.
The Cowgirls dropped to 17-5 on the season after the trip to No. 12 Hope and will continue the road trip on Friday night at Adrian at 5:30 central time on Feb. 13 in Adrian, Mich.
