MARSHALL, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's basketball team claimed its third straight American Southwest Conference title with a 91-83 win over East Texas Baptist on Saturday afternoon at Ornelas Gym in Marshall.

HSU will now host the American Southwest Conference Tournament next weekend in Abilene, beginning on Friday evening.

The game was even played in the first half and the Cowboys claimed a 27-20 lead on a Jamar Ingram jumped in the paint. ETBU narrowed the deficit to 33-31 at halftime.

HSU came out and scored the first seven points of the second half to open a 40-31 lead. However, ETBU battled back with a 15-3 run to tie the game at 50.

After a timeout, the Cowboys scored six straight points. The last four came on back-to-back breakaway dunks by Tyler Williams and Chris Bryant.

HSU led just 73-69 with 3:43 to play before a quick 8-0 run put the game away.

Per usual, the Cowboys did it with a balanced attack. Bryant led the way with 18 points, six rebounds and four assists. Tyler Williams added 17 points, Myles Amason had 14 points and Asher Fleming and Silas Davis had 11 points each.
