IRVING, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl golf team finished in third place and
Shay West finished runner-up in the medalist race at the UD Invite at the Hackberry Country Club in Irving on Tuesday.
The Cowgirls finished with a 331-364-695 to place third in the nine-team field behind Our Lady of the Lake who shot 328-359-687 and LeTourneau who had a 334-356-690 total.
West finished with a 76-91-167 to tie for second with Kendal Ward of OLLU. Kinley Pessel of LeTourneau shot 76-84-160 to claim the title. Cowgirl freshman
Addison Payne finished fourth one stroke back of second with an 81-87-168.
Allison McGinnis fired an 86-92-178 to tie for 13
th place overall and
Ariana Chavez tied for 20
th with an 88-94-182.
Julia Hughes shot a pair of 96s for the Cowgirls for a 192 total.
HSU returns to action in two weeks at the Space City Classic in Houston.
