BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Hardin-Simmons' Cowboy indoor track and field team saw Davare Payne finish No. 11 in the nation for the triple jump at the 2026 NCAA DIII indoor national championships on Saturday.
 
Payne finished with a mark of 46-3 ½ ft. (14.11m) and placed No. 11 among the best 16 men's triple jumpers in Division III.
 
Payne had a Hardin-Simmons record in the indoor triple jump earlier this season, with a jump of 48-9 ½ ft. (14.87m) in Houston, in order to qualify for the indoor nationals.
 
The Hardin-Simmons outdoor track season is already underway, and will continue on March 20-21 at Abilene Christian University at Elmer Gray Stadium.
