NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl basketball team finished the season at the NCAA Sweet 16 against No. 1 New York University on Friday night, dropping 103-61 to the Violets.
The Cowgirls shot out the gate to a 9-4 lead over NYU on the road. The Violet offense went on to have its best shooting night of the season, making 59 percent of its shots, including 17 three-pointers in the win 103-61.
Jacqueline Berry led all Cowgirls with 20 points shooting 10-for-18 in the game with five rebounds, two blocks, and four steals. Berry scored 18 points in the first half against No. 1 NYU. She finished with 20 or more points in a game for the eighth time this year.
Senior
Caroline Croft scored 16 points in the game with a pair of 3-pointers and six assists. Croft finished with 118 assists on the year, which ranks No. 6 all-time in Cowgirl history.
Savannah Bennett ended with ten rebounds off the bench for Hardin-Simmons, making a big impact down low on the glass.
The Cowgirls ended the year with a record of 24-6, adding an ASC regular season and tournament championship under head coach
