WBCA Names Berry All-American, Whitehead A Finalist For Coach Of The Year

ATLANTA, Ga. –The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) named Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl basketball player Jacqueline Berry an All-American and head coach Kendra Whitehead a finalist for the Coach of the Year in the NCAA Division III 2025-26 awards, announced on Thursday.
 
Berry was named to the All-American honorable mention team for the Cowgirls. The sophomore from Texhoma, Okla. is the ninth All-American in school history, joining the most recent additions of Paris Kiser in 2024, and Natasha Blizzard and Parris Parmer both in 2023.
 
Berry averaged 15.1 points a game and 6.7 rebounds a game as the 2025-26 ASC Player of the Year. She was also named the D3hoops.com Region 10 Most Outstanding Player as a sophomore.
 
Head coach Kendra Whitehead was a finalist for the WBCA Coach of the Year, one of only ten coaches across the nation for Division III to be named a finalist. She was the ASC Coach of the Year, and led the Cowgirls to a record of 24-6, winning the ASC regular season title and the American Southwest Conference championship tournament in Abilene. The Cowgirls returned to the NCAA Sweet 16 after defeating Austin College and Whitman College in the NCAA Tournament this season.
