SAN ANGELO, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowboy and Cowgirl outdoor track and field teams ran at the Angelo State David Noble Relays on Friday and Saturday in San Angelo, Texas.
Highlights from the weekend included
Lenora Busby, who placed No. 10 overall for the Cowgirls in the women's discus with a throw of 122-7 ft. (37.38m). She was the second-best mark from Division III schools, competing in a field that included Abilene Christian, Angelo State, Dallas Baptist, and TAMU Kingsville.
Davare Payne finished second in the meet for the 110m hurdles. He qualified for finals with a 14.89 and ran a time of 14.62 in the finals for second. Payne also made third place in the long jump at 22-8 ft. (6.91m).
Gunner Helm took third place in the high jump for the Cowboys with a clear at 6-4 ¾ ft. (1.95m).
Jahymeer Larkins had two top 10 finishes in throwing. He finished No. 7 out of 22 competitors in the discus with 148-8 ft. (45.32m). Larkins placed No. 6 out of 19 in the shot put with a 48-7 ½ ft. (14.82m) throw for the Cowboys.
Hardin-Simmons will be set to compete at meets at Trinity, Texas State, and UT, spanning from April 2-4.
