HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl tennis team defeated the Shenandoah University Hornets 5-1 in a neutral game at Hilton Head, S.C. for spring break.
The Cowgirls won two doubles matches.
Taylor Levy and
Halle Smith won 6-0 in flight two and
Addyson Tylaska and
Emma Curiel won 6-2 in third flight doubles.
Sydney Tomlin won first flight singles 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-6) in a comeback against Hilliard.
Tylaska took the third singles match in a comeback 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 (10-7) playing Talko.
Halle Smith won 6-1, 6-1 at four singles in quick order, defeating Calvert.
Abigail Diamond won the fifth singles match 6-1, 6-1 as well for Hardin-Simmons in a win against Gillette.
Allie Dunn played to an unfinished match in six singles that she was leading Montrief.
The Cowgirls improved to 3-6 and will play Carroll University at 11:30 a.m. central on Monday in Hilton Head, S.C.
