WHITNEY, Texas – Tyler Merchant and
Harrison Cox shot a pair of 72s to lead the Hardin Simmons men's golf team at the West Region Invitational, which was played at the White Bluff Resort in Whitney.
Merchant had seven birdies on the day and finished in fourth place. Cole MacMillian of Mary Hardin-Baylor won the tournament with a eight-under-par 208.
Riley Ellison shot 81-74-76-231 for the Cowboys,
Keaton Blume shot 80-79-79-238 and
Kade Burton had rounds of 83,87, and 75 for a 245 total.
Bobby Dominy shot 92-94-92 playing as a medalist.
The Cowboys shot 313-308-295-916 and finished in third place. Mary Hardin-Baylor 292-296-288- 876 won the tournament with Trinity 286-302-296-884 finishing in second place.
The Cowboys will be back in action at the ASC Championships May 1-3 in Whitney, Texas.
