Box Score COPPELL, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowboy tennis team went down 4-3 to East Texas Baptist on Saturday afternoon playing at Coppell high school in American Southwest Conference play.
 
Payne Smith and Gabriel Harris won the first doubles match 7-6 (7-5) and Phoenix Davis and Jameson Sorrell won 6-3 at three doubles to earn the doubles point for Hardin-Simmons.
 
Smith won again in the ace singles match 7-5, 7-6 (7-4) playing Black. Harris went on to win a split 7-5, 4-6, 10-5 in the third singles match.
 
The Cowboys went down in a split set at four singles and would go down by a final of 4-3 to the Tigers from ETBU in ASC play.
 
The Cowboys fell to 10-9 and 1-2 in American Southwest Conference to finish the regular season. The men's tennis ASC championship tournament will begin on May 1.
