Hardin-Simmons Takes 13 Top-5 Finishes At Trinity

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' outdoor track and field Cowboy and Cowgirl teams combined for 13 top-5 marks in the field at the Trinity Invitational on Friday night.
 
Omar Harris was first overall, winning the javelin for the Cowboys with a 175-7 ft. throw. He placed first out of 13 competitors.
 
Nathan Mangual finished fourth in the hammer throw at 149-10 ft. for the Cowboys. Mangual also threw for fifth place in the shot put with a mark at 46-2 ¾ ft.
 
Haley Smith was fourth place in the Cowgirl long jump, with a mark of 17-7 ½ ft. She placed No. 4 out of 19 jumpers in the event at Trinity.
 
Davare Payne was third in the field in the long jump for the Cowboys. He landed a 23-0 ft. mark against 19 total long jumpers. Payne landed second out of eight in the triple jump at 47-4 ft.
 
Lenora Busby was fourth of 21 throwers in the women's discus. Busby landed a 121-0 ft. toss for the Cowgirls.
 
Jahymeer Larkins was fourth place out of 25 total shot-put throwers, with a distance of 46-7 ¾ ft. for Hardin-Simmons.
 
Jah'Shon Williams was second overall out of 13 in the 110m hurdles. Willimas clocked 14.89 for the Cowboys. He also placed third in the 400m hurdles coming in at 55.85.
 
Riley Birck was second overall in the 400m dash with a 59.82. She took second place against 16 total runners.
 
Donovan Simmons was third overall in the field of 40 sprinters in the 100m dash with a time of 10.73 for the Cowboys. Simmons was also second out of 43 runners in the 200m with a time of 21.84 for HSU.
 
Hardin-Simmons will compete at McMurry in Abilene, Texas on April 10-11 all day.
