LA CROSSE, Wis. – Hardin-Simmons' Cowboy outdoor track and field team had two members named second-team All-Americans at the 2026 NCAA Division III championships hosted by UW-La Crosse on Thursday.
Jahymeer Larkins finished No. 9 in the discus and
Davare Payne placed No. 16 in the long jump for Hardin-Simmons and were both named outdoor track and field second-team All-Americans.
Larkins threw 163-2 ft. (49.73m) for the Cowboys to place No. 9 in the NCAA championships. He set the Cowboy record earlier this season in the event and reached the finals in his first year competing in the NCAA championships.
Payne finished the long jump No. 16 overall with a mark of 23-1 ¼ ft. (7.04m) in the NCAA championships. He will continue competing in the NCAA championships for HSU in the 4x100m relay on Friday, and the triple jump on Saturday. Payne was named an All-American for indoor track in the triple jump earlier this season.

Donovan Simmons,
Derrick Crump,
Jah'Shon Williams, Grey Albrecht,
Kaden Landeros, and
Davare Payne will compete on Friday in La Crosse, Wis. at the NCAA championships, with the high jump starting at 11 a.m. and the relay scheduled for 3:10 p.m.
