MARSHALL, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl softball team will play UMHB in the 2026 American Southwest Conference opening round of double elimination on Thursday, May 7 at 3 p.m. hosted by ETBU in Marshall, Texas.

Casey Wilson finished the regular season with a record of 20-10 and 6-6 in the conference. The Cowgirls dropped three of four games in the series against UMHB during the regular season.
Kinzley Cantu leads the Cowgirls as a standout freshman with a batting average of .495 with 54 hits to lead the ASC along with 11 doubles for HSU. Senior
Ella Salinas has a .410 batting average with 36 RBIs to lead the team.
The Cowgirls enter the ASC championship tournament as the No. 2 overall seed and will play No. 3 UMHB in the first round. The other first round game is between host ETBU and Howard Payne, Scheduled for Thursday at 6 p.m. The winners will play Friday at 3 p.m. in Marshall, while the elimination bracket will begin with the first game at 12 noon on Friday.
The Cowgirls will travel to Marshall to take on UMHB on Thursday, May 7 at 3 p.m. in the first round of the ASC championship tournament hosted by ETBU.
