SEGUIN, Texas – Hardin-Simmons captured the team championship at the John Nellermoe Classic on Monday and Tuesday at Starcke Park, posting rounds of 323 and 323 for a two-round total of 646.
 
The Cowgirls finished seven strokes ahead of runner-up LeTourneau (653) and eight clear of Southwestern (654).
 
Hardin-Simmons placed four golfers inside the top 12 individually, led by Shay West, who finished fourth overall with a 12-over-par 156 after rounds of 76 and 80. Ariana Chavez added an eighth-place finish at 162, while Katie Mae Hensley and Addison Payne tied for 11th at 164. Jessica Pratt
rounded out the scoring lineup with a tie for 17th-place finish at 166.
 
Katelyn Miller of Concordia and Emerson Swanner of LeTourneau shared medalist honors with matching 154 totals.
 
The Cowgirls' balanced lineup proved decisive, as all five scoring players finished 17th or better to help Hardin-Simmons secure the tournament title.
HSU will return to action next week at the Texas Legends Cup in Kingsland.
