Emily Watson is in her second season as the men's and women's golf assistant and compliance coordinator.
The 2025-26 teams both had periods of success in her first season with HSU.
The men's team finished second at the ASC Championship and set the school record with 279 birdies. Tyler Merchant set the school record for birdies (72) in a season.
On the women's side, the Cowgirls had an impressive season. Freshmen Addison Payne and Ariana Chavez each set the school record with 34 birdies on the year. The season scoring average of 325.15 is the third lowest in school history. The Cowgirls won the Space City Classic as a team. Addison Payne was named the ASC Freshman of the Year.
She came to HSU after a standout playing career at East Texas Baptist. She also served as a graduate assistant at ETBU.
She was a three-time All-ASC performer for the Tigers. She was on the ASC all-tournament team in 2022.
Watson is a native of Canton, Texas and has a bachelor's degree in athletic training and master's degree in kinesiology, both from ETBU.
