Coach Salazar was named the Cowgirl softball assistant coach in July of 2025.
Salazar previously coached as a graduate assistant for Hardin-Simmons softball in 2025, with the Cowgirls finishing the year with a 32-10 record.
Salazar played for Cowgirl softball for four years graduating in 2024. She was named an all-ASC pitcher twice in her career and was named the 2022-23 Fred Jacoby Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year, representing all female athletes in the American Southwest Conference across 16 member sports. She finished her college career with a record of 13-4 pitching with 109 strikeouts in 131 innings pitched.
Salazar is a native of Abilene and graduated from Abilene high school in 2020. She graduated with her degree in Fitness, Recreation, and Sports Management with a minor in psychology from Hardin-Simmons in 2024 and is working on her masters in Kinesiology and coaching at HSU currently.
