Box Score ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' baseball team fell 7-3 on Tuesday night at Hunter Field to third-ranked Trinity in non-conference action.
Trinity struck first with two runs in the first inning. HSU responded with three runs in the first on a Jeremy Colon RBI groundout, scored a run on a wild pitch and Gabe Moore had an RBI single.
The Tigers tied the game in the second on an error and took the lead in the fourth on a Brian Schaub home run. Trinity added single runs in the fourth, fifth and seventh innings.
Jamie Dominguez, Garrett Frazier and Gabe Moore each had three hits for the Cowboys.
Andrew Hernandez took the loss for the Cowboys, allowing four runs on six hits in three innings. Raby Hampton, Riley Rice and Kadin Croak pitched in relief for the Cowboys.
Brian Schaub had two hits, drove in two and scored three times to pace the Tigers. Harrison Durrow won the game with five and two-third innings of scoreless relief.
HSU is now 1-3 on the year and will travel to Louisiana College for a three-game series this weekend. Trinity improved to 6-0 on the year.
