ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' baseball program will have a special day for its final home games of the season on April 30 against Sul Ross State.

At 10 a.m., there will be a brunch in Moody Center for the members of the 1982 baseball team that won the Trans America Athletic Conference title. It was the last Division I team title for the school. The team will also be presented with championship rings at a ceremony before the first game of the doubleheader at around 12:40 p.m.

At 11:30 a.m., there will be a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Hunter Family / Powell Family Indoor Facility which is going to be built adjacent to Hunter Field behind the Sandefer Fieldhouse.

That day will also be Senior Day for the four Cowboys that will be graduating – Hayden Clark, Garrett Frazier, Weston Hickman, and Orel Rhodes. They will receive recognition in between games of the doubleheader.

The Hardin-Simmons Board of Young Associates is hosting Alumni Family Day.  Join them for HSU giveaways, activities, and pictures with Hoss.

This is all part of the final day of the regular season that will no doubt have an impact on the league standings as currently the fourth through ninth teams are separated by just four games with three weeks of play left in the regular season.

HSU is currently 16-13 overall and 10-11 in American Southwest Conference play and sits in fifth place. Sul Ross State is one game behind the Cowboys. The top eight teams advance to the postseason.

Admission to Cowboy baseball is free and HSU will host Belhaven this weekend beginning with a doubleheader at 3 p.m. on Thursday.
