ALPINE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl volleyball team defeated the Sul Ross State Lobos 3-0 in a nonconference match on Friday night on the road.
The Cowgirls went up with sets of 25-21, 25-20, 32-30 at Sul Ross in the win. HSU hit .222 with 48 kills in the match including hitting .414 in the opening set.
Gabby Jones led the Cowgirls with 14 kills offensively. She also led with three blocks for HSU.
Jadyn Hernandez hit 11 kills and
Liz Underwood had eight for Hardin-Simmons in the win.
Kat Martinez had 16 digs to lead HSU.
Ali Meyer led the team with 19 assists.
Keatyn Rodgers was also in double figures with 16 Cowgirl assists.
The Cowgirls move to 9-10 on the season after the nonconference game with Sul Ross. HSU will play at Howard Payne on Monday night at 6 p.m.
