ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowboy soccer team played to a scoreless tie against the Concordia Texas Tornados on Saturday for Cowboy Senior Night in American Southwest Conference play.
The Cowboy program honored five Cowboy soccer seniors before the game,
Brenden Cisneros,
Max Meraz,
Jose Victor,
Johan Hernandez, and
Jakob Fiol.
The Cowboys shot 17 times with four shots on goal in the match and Concordia had 14 shots with two shots on goal. Most attempts were blocked at the point of contact by good defense on both sides, with few real chances.
The match came to a scoreless draw after full time, leaving the Cowboys with matches at UT-Dallas and Ozarks to finish the regular season next weekend.
Hardin-Simmons is now 5-5-5 and 3-1-2 in the ASC while Concordia is 7-6-2 and 5-1-1 in conference. The HSU match at UT-Dallas begins Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in Richardson.
