ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl volleyball team skunked the McMurry War Hawks 3-0 in American Southwest Conference play on Tuesday night at the Mabee Athletic Complex.
The Cowgirls took the match with straight sets of 25-9, 25-21, 25-19. HSU hit .213 with 44 kills in three sets to McMurry hitting .054 and 23 kills.
Liz Underwood had a big night on offense with 17 kills to lead the floor in three sets. Underwood hit .389 in the win on 36 total attacks. She currently leads the Cowgirls with 260 kills on the year, averaging 3.1 kills per set.
Keatyn Rodgers led the Cowgirls with 19 assists and
Ali Meyer had 16 assists for Hardin-Simmons.
Kat Martinez led the defense with 26 digs for the Cowgirls.
The Cowgirl improve to 11-12 and 5-6 in the American Southwest Conference with Cowgirl Volleyball Senior Night coming up on Friday night at the Mabee Athletic Complex at 6 p.m. against LeTourneau.
