SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' volleyball team dropped two matches to Texas Lutheran and No. 11 Trinity on Wednesday inside Calgaard Gym at Trinity.
The Cowgirls went down to Texas Lutheran 25-19, 25-13, and 32-30. HSU hit .154 with 43 kills to .276 and 38 kills for the Bulldogs.
Liz Underwood led the Cowgirls with ten kills followed by
Jadyn Hernandez with nine kills. Hernandez had two blocks while
Sabrina Nelson and Underwood each had one.
Ali Meyer led HSU with 23 assists with
Keatyn Rodgers having 13 as well. Underwood led the Cowgirls with 11 digs and
Kat Martinez added ten digs for Hardin-Simmons.
HSU fell in four sets 25-15, 24-26, 25-15, and 25-11 to No. 11 Trinity. The Cowgirls hit .143 with 38 kills against Trinity hitting .345 with 52 kills.
Underwood led the Cowgirl attack with 11 kills with
Lauren Sullivan contributing eight kills as well. Hernandez led HSU with three blocks with
Rachel Nordt,
Gabby Jones, and Nelson all having a block each.
Meyer led game two with 15 assists with Rodgers having 14 assists as well.
Ari Villanueva had 14 digs to lead HSU.
The Cowgirls move to 8-8 on the year and will return to American Southwest Conference action Friday night against UT-Dallas inside the Mabee Complex beginning at 6 p.m.
