ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' volleyball team dropped an American Southwest Conference match to the East Texas Baptist Tigers 3-1 inside the Mabee Complex Saturday afternoon.
The Cowgirls went down in four sets 25-18, 25-16, 20-25, and 25-16. HSU hit .160 with 40 kills to .220 and 58 kills for the Tigers.
Jadyn Hernandez led the Cowgirls with 12 kills followed by
Rachel Nordt with 11 kills.
Gabby Jones and
Rylee Ortega led HSU with five blocks each. Hernandez had four blocks as well.
Ali Meyer led HSU with 20 assists with
Keatyn Rodgers adding 14 assists.
Kat Martinez led Hardin-Simmons with 14 digs with Meyer having 13 digs.
Avery Reid led East Texas Baptist with 19 kills. Anita Hancock and Hannah Perry each had four blocks for the Tigers. Lillie Hill led ETBU with 17 digs. Sydney Temple had 23 assists to lead the Tigers.
Hardin-Simmons moved to 8-10 on the year and 3-4 in conference play. East Texas Baptist improved to 14-2 on the year and 7-0 in league play.
The Cowgirls will return to action Friday night at Sul Ross State beginning at 6 p.m.
