SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl basketball team pulled away late to defeat the Cal Lutheran Regals 91-60 playing at Trinity on Sunday afternoon.
The Cowgirls got out to a 14-point lead at halftime, up 39-25 over Cal Lutheran. Hardin-Simmons would finish strong with 36 points in the fourth quarter to pull away 91-60 for the third Cowgirl win of the year.
The Cowgirls shot 46% going 36-78 from the field and 12-13 from the free throw line. HSU was led by freshman
Madison Williams scoring 19 points. She shot 7-11 with three made three pointers and four steals on defense.
Three other Cowgirls scored double figures against Cal Lutheran.
Parris Parmer scored 16 and had six rebounds.
Samantha Tatum scored 15 with three made three pointers and five rebounds.
Kiki Gonzales scored 14 and had eight rebounds to lead the Cowgirls.
The Cowgirl defense forced 19 turnovers and had 11 steals, holding Ca Lutheran to shooting 29% in the game.
Hardin-Simmons moves to 3-0 this season and will continue back in the Mabee Athletic Complex, hosting Trinity on Nov. 25 at 1 p.m.
