LONGVIEW, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl basketball team started American Southwest conference play 1-0 with a win at LeTourneau on Thursday 70-51.
The Cowgirls started the game going up 20-5 in the first quarter and that was that. HSU went up 38-15 at the half and finished the game 70-51 on the road. In a big team win,
Paris Kiser led the team scoring 16 points, going 5-12 with three three-pointers.
The Cowgirls shot 25-59 as a team for 42%. In the total team win, eight Cowgirls scored more than five points.
Samantha Tatum,
Madison Williams, and
Aiken Semones each scored eight points.
Savannah Bennett led the team in rebounding with seven.
Anna Fanelli pitched five assists in the win at LeTourneau.
The Cowgirls improve to 6-0 to start the year and will take on East Texas Baptist in Marshall on Saturday at 1 p.m. in another ASC matchup.
