ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl basketball team scored triple digits in the 104-51 win over the University of the Ozarks at home on Saturday afternoon in American Southwest Conference play at the Mabee Athletic Complex.
The Cowgirls got up 16-0 to start the game and led 31-12 after the first quarter where HSU shot 50%, going 11-22 and 6-8 from the free throw line.
The Cowgirls were up 54-21 at halftime before coming out on fire and shooting 63% in the third quarter, 14-22 from the field for 31 points to 18 allowed for Ozarks taking the lead to 85-39 heading into the fourth.
Hardin-Simmons got the young bucks in the game, and they kept scoring to win by a final of 104-51 over the Eagles in ASC play.
The Cowgirls dominated with 59 rebounds to 32 for the Eagles, holding Ozarks to shooting 30% in the game.
Paris Kiser led the Cowgirls with 17 points. She also had five assists.
Samantha Tatum scored 15, shooting 6-8 and had six rebounds.
Madison Williams scored 13, and freshman
Dana Gingrey scored 11 in the fourth quarter, hitting three 3-pointers.
Parris Parmer led the Cowgirls with nine rebounds and scored eight points.
Anna Fanelli had six assists for HSU.
Hardin-Simmons improves to 8-1 and 3-1 in the ASC while Ozarks falls to 2-6 and 0-2 in conference play. The Cowgirls will play UT-Dallas Monday at 1 p.m. in the Mabee Complex in Abilene.
