ATLANTA, Ga. – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl basketball team dropped its second game of the season on Saturday 76-68 playing the Emory Eagles on the road in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Cowgirls drop to 11-2 on the season after a tough outing, shooting 25-69 for 36% in the game, while Emory shot 48% in the game, and only came away with an 8-point win.
The Cowgirls battled into the final minute despite the difference in shooting, but never came within eight points of the Eagles in the fourth quarter in a 76-68 final score.
The Cowgirls had 33 rebounds to 43 for the Eagles and HSU had 13 turnovers and forced 17 turnovers from Emory.
Paris Kiser led the Cowgirl offense with 23 points.
Parris Parmer had a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead Hardin-Simmons.
Anna Fanelli scored ten points for the Cowgirls and had six assists against Emory. The previous All-American at Colorado College last year, Fanelli leads the ASC in assists with 67 in 13 games.
The Cowgirls drop to 11-2 on the year and will play next against the McMurry War Hawks on Jan. 6 at 1 p.m. at McMurry.
