Box Score AUSTIN, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' baseball team fell 8-3 to Pacific Lutheran on Saturday morning in the final game of the Concordia Classic at Gardner-Boggs Field in Austin.
The Cowboys fell behind early in the game for the third straight game. PLU led 7-0 after three innings. HSU hit into double plays in four of the first five innings.
Cole Antonelli had an RBI fielder's choice in the fourth inning and added an RBI single in the sixth. Nick Ellington had an RBI fielder's choice.
Brandon Bane took the loss for the Cowboys. He allowed seven runs over two and one-third innings. The Cowboy bullpen allowed just one run and two hits over the final five and two-third innings. Johnny Follett gave up just one run on one hit in three and two-thirds and Wyatt Tumlinson worked two scoreless innings.
Landon Day earned the win for PLU allowing two runs on seven hits over six innings.
Colby Seltzer led the HSU offense with three hits. Four different Lutes had two hits.
The Cowboys are 0-3 on the year. PLU improved to 3-2. HSU will next be in action next Saturday at Trinity.
