RICHARDSON, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' women's tennis team dropped a non-conference match at the Texas-Dallas Comets on Saturday 6-3.

The Cowgirls took on the defending ASC champs with a few notable wins on the day. Jacy Smith came from behind to take down the nationally No. 10 ranked Suzuka Nishino in the ace singles match 1-6, 6-3, 6-1.

Laurel Coleman added a nice win for the Cowgirls at No. 2 singles over Saumya Vedula, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 in another comeback win.

The Cowgirl doubles team of Skylar Rust and Priscilla Schimming took another one off the Comets with an 8-5 win at doubles No. 3.

The Cowgirls fall to 2-4 against the ASC defending champs and will return to the Streich Tennis Center on Friday February 24 for a match against LeTourneau non-conference at 3 p.m.
