GEORGETOWN, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowboy soccer team traveled down to Southwestern University on Sunday, leaving with a 1-1 draw in the game against the Pirates.
Hardin-Simmons headed down to finish the weekend after a trip Friday where the Cowboys tied 1-1 with the No. 15 Trinity Tigers
The Pirates took the lead early in the 16
th minute from a Raghav Sharma goal to make it 1-0.
The Cowboys fought to earn a penalty kick in the 78
th minute that was knocked in by senior
Jack Sissen to make it a 1-1 final score in Georgetown on Sunday.
The Cowboys had 11 shots with six on goal in the game to 14 and seven for Southwestern. HSU led with five corners to four.
Carson Null started and went the distance in goal for the Cowboys with five saves in the game.
The Cowboys move to 0-2-3 this season and will continue the road games next weekend at Texas Lutheran Friday and St. Thomas (Tex.) Saturday.
