VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team went down 3-0 to the Virginia Wesleyan Marlins on Saturday to finish the opening weekend road trip to the east coast for the Cowboys.
The game held with no score until the Marlin goal in the 61
st minute. Virginia Wesleyan added goals in the 65
th and 90
th minute to make it a final score of 3-0.
The Cowboys shot 11 times with seven on frame to 18 total shots and 11 on goal for the Marlins. HSU led with seven corner kicks. VWU took five corners.
Hardin-Simmons falls to 0-2 on the opening weekend and will play next at Trinity against Whitman at 6 p.m. next Thursday, Sept. 7.
