SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowboy soccer team got a game-saving goal from sophomore
Omar Estrada in the final minutes to tie the Whitman Blues 1-1 playing at Trinity on Thursday night.
The Cowboys headed to San Antonio Thursday to play the Whitman Blues at Trinity. The contest was tight, with 18 shots and seven on goal for the Cowboys, while Whitman shot 16 times with six on goal.
The game was scoreless until the 85
th minute when Whitman earned a penalty kick to go for goal and take a 1-0 lead with just five minutes left in play.

Jakob Fiol placed on the back of the box for a diving
Omar Estrada, who headed one in for goal to tie the game in dramatic fashion in the 88
th minute. It was Estrada's first goal in his first game playing for the Cowboys in the 1-1 draw with Whitman.
Hardin-Simmons forced six corner kicks to two from Whitman in the draw.
Reid Applewhite started in goal with two saves and
Carson Null played the second half with three saves for the Cowboys.
Hardin-Simmons moves to 0-2-1 and will return to San Antonio on Friday, Sept. 15 at 7:30 p.m. to face the Trinity Tigers.
