GEORGETOWN, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl soccer team won 2-1 traveling down to play the Southwestern Pirates on Sunday.
The Cowgirls opened with the first score in the 32
nd minute from the ASC goal leader
Lexi Templin. The freshman Templin now has eight goals on the season for the Cowgirls.
The Cowgirls held a 1-0 lead until the 64
th minute when
Caroline Burrow scored the first goal of her career for Hardin-Simmons to make it a 2-0 game.
Burrow's goal would end up a game-winner as the Pirates received a penalty kick and converted to make it a 2-1 game in the final ten minutes. The game was suspended and later called for weather with a 2-1 final score for the Cowgirls.
The Cowgirls shot 25 times with 14 shots on goal in the game. The Pirates shot eight times with six on target. HSU led with eight corner kicks to three.

Haley Foley started and went full time for the Cowgirls with five saves in the win.
The Cowgirls improved to 7-0-1 on the year with three wins this past week capped off on Sunday at Southwestern. Hardin-Simmons will host Dallas Christian next Thursday at 5 p.m.
