LONGVIEW, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl volleyball team went down 3-2 to the LeTourneau Yellowjackets on Saturday in a road game in American Southwest Conference play.
The Cowgirls went down in sets of 25-23, 18-25, 25-22, 17-25, 15-4 to LeTourneau. The Cowgirls hit .203 with 60 kills in the contest with LeTourneau hitting .177 and 53 kills in the ASC match.
Gabby Jones led the Cowgirl attack with 17 kills.
Liz Underwood hit 14 kills and
Lauren Sullivan hit 11 kills in the game. Jones added five blocks, Underwood had four and
Jadyn Hernandez blocked three.
Ali Meyer led Hardin-Simmons with 32 assists while
Keatyn Rodgers went for 18 assists.
Kat Martinez had 23 digs for the Cowgirls.
Lydia Headley had 13 digs and Sullivan had ten.
The Cowgirls fall to 8-6 and 2-2 in the ASC while LeTourneau moves to 4-8 and 4-2 in the conference. HSU volleyball will travel to San Antonio Wednesday to play Texas Lutheran and Trinity, beginning at 3 p.m.
