ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's basketball team went to triple digits with a 103-92 win over Mary Hardin-Baylor in American Southwest Conference play on Thursday night at the Mabee Athletic Complex.
The Cowboys led for most of the game, with UMHB taking a slim lead just before the half. HSU led 43-41 at the half and eventually got out to a 73-58 lead over the Cru with just under ten minutes left in the game.
The Cowboy lead was cut down, but Hardin-Simmons held strong and finished with a 103-92 win against Mary Hardin-Baylor.
The Cowboys shot 45%, going 33-72 from the field with 41 rebounds. UMHB shot 46% on 29-62 from the field and 38 rebounds.
Sophomore
Jason Justice tied his career-high of 30 points going 11-19 with five assists for the Cowboys.
Will Bartoszek had 21 points and led with seven assists.
Austin Brewer scored 14 and had a double-double with 11 rebounds.
Asher Fleming scored 12 points for the Cowboys.
The Cowboys improve to 12-2 and 6-0 in ASC play while UMHB falls to 7-7 and 3-4 in conference. The Cowboys will host Concordia on Saturday at 3 p.m.
