ALPINE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowboy basketball team cleared-out from Alpine with a 68-55 win over the Sul Ross State Lobos on the road in non-conference action Thursday night.
Hardin-Simmons held the lead for the entire night against Sul Ross, up 36-28 at the half. The Cowboys shot 42 percent in the game and Sul Ross shot 35 percent. HSU led the rebounding narrowly with 36 to 35.
The Cowboys closed out on the road, leading by as many as 19 with just over three minutes in the game and winning by a final of 68-55 in the non-conference game.
Three Cowboys scored in double figures at Sul Ross.
Chris Bryant led with 13 to tie his season high as a freshman forward for the Cowboys. He added three steals to his performance as well.
Austin Brewer scored 12 in the game at Sul Ross and freshman
Tyler Williams also tied his season-best scoring mark with 11 points.
Will Bartoszek led the Cowboys with seven rebounds and
Jalen McGee notched six assists.
The Cowboys take the win and head back into American Southwest Conference play on Saturday at 3 p.m. against Howard Payne in Brownwood.
