ALPINE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl basketball team won 82-71 playing at Sul Ross State on Thursday in a non-conference game against the Lobos in Alpine.
The Cowgirls led 26-18 after the first quarter and held the lead 47-34 going in at halftime.
HSU pushed out to the biggest lead of the night to end the third up 66-49 over Sul Ross before coming away with the 82-71 victory against the Lobos on the road.
The Cowgirls led the whole way against Sul Ross shooting 27-60 for 45 percent in the game with 32 rebounds while the Lobos shot 47 percent and finished with 36 rebounds.
Paris Kiser led HSU in scoring with 24 points and added six rebounds.
Aiken Semones scored 15 points with five made 3-pointers.
Parris Parmer shot 5-8 and scored 13 points in the Cowgirl win.
Anna Fanelli dished out ten assists to Cowgirls to continue to lead the American Southwest Conference by a wide margin.
Hardin-Simmons will travel to Brownwood on Saturday to take on Howard Payne in an ASC match starting at 1 p.m.
