MARSHALL, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl volleyball team went down 3-1 to the No. 10 ranked East Texas Baptist Tigers on Friday night for an American Southwest Conference match.
Hardin-Simmons came out and took the first set 25-21 over the Tigers before dropping the next three sets 25-17, 25-15, and 25-19 to ETBU.
Abbi Allen led the Cowgirls with 10 kills on Friday at ETBU.
Jadyn Hernandez had nine kills and hit .368 to lead the team in hitting.
Avery Tumlinson had six blocks to lead the Cowgirls while Hernandez and
Rachel Nordt added five blocks each for Hardin-Simmons.
Ali Meyer had 23 assists for the Cowgirls and
Keatyn Rodgers assisted 13 times on Friday.
Kat Martinez led the Cowgirls with 25 digs against East Texas Baptist playing at libero for HSU.
The Cowgirls fall to 14-7 and 4-3 in the ASC after facing the top of the standings. HSU will play at LeTourneau on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Longview for another ASC match.
