ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl basketball team downed the Southwestern Pirates by a final score of 70-48 on Saturday at the Mabee Athletic Complex to improve to 4-0 on the season.
The Cowgirls had 10 players with a bucket against the Pirates. Hardin-Simmons got out to a 33-26 lead at the half after a 7-0 run ending with a 3-pointer from
Jayda Mitchell at the buzzer.
Madison Williams led the Cowgirls in the third quarter with two big and-ones to help increase the lead. Williams finished with ten points and had the Cowgirl lead 51-38 after three quarters.
Hardin-Simmons finished off the fourth quarter, outscoring Southwestern 19-10 to win 70-48 on Saturday.
Jacqueline Berry finished with 18 points to lead the Cowgirls with nine makes in 13 tries.
Caroline Croft led the Cowgirls with nine rebounds and
Kylie Ellsworth had the team lead with four assists.
The Cowgirls improve to 4-0 on the year and will play at McMurry on Nov. 22 at 5:30 p.m.
