INDIANAPOLIS – Hardin-Simmons' football team has been seeded No. 2 in the new-look NCAA Division III playoffs for 2024.
The Cowboys are 10-0 and won the American Southwest Conference to claim an automatic bid into the NCAA playoffs. HSU will receive a first-round bye and play the winner of a first round game between Trinity and Mary Hardin-Baylor. The HSU game will be on Saturday, Nov. 30 at noon.
Hardin-Simmons has played three games this season against teams in the field with wins over Endicott and two against Mary Hardin-Baylor.

th trip to the NCAA Division III playoffs and the seventh under head coach
Jesse Burleson.
The NCAA added a new format for the playoffs this season with an expanded field of 40 teams. There will be eight games on the first weekend, with 24 teams receiving a bye. The top eight seeds are protected with home games through the quarterfinals, meaning HSU will host any games they play.
