HOUSTON, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Cowgirl volleyball team went down 3-1 in a match against the UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs on Saturday to end the regular season, playing in Houston hosted by the University of St. Thomas.
The Cowgirls gritted a win in set two 27-25 but went down by a final of 3-1 as UCSC took the match 25-15, 25-27, 25-19, 25-20.
Abbi Allen led the Cowgirls with nine kills.
Ali Meyer had 17 assists for Hardin-Simmons and
Keatyn Rodgers had 12 assists.
Ari Villanueva led with 14 digs while
Leigh Jespersen had 11 digs and Rodgers had 10 digs for the Cowgirls.
Hardin-Simmons ends the regular season with a record of 14-10 and will have a week off before the American Southwest Conference championship tournament, beginning on Nov. 15 at ETBU in Marshall.
