COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Hardin-Simmons' Cowboy basketball team dropped a game against the Willamette Bearcats 84-69 on Friday night playing at Colorado College.
The Cowboys had the lead at the end of the first half 35-33 over Willamette. The Bearcats shot 54% percent in the second half to outscore HSU 51-34 and take the game 84-69 Friday.
Hardin-Simmons shot 34% to 44% for the Bearcats on Friday. Willamette had the rebounding edge 45-42 over HSU, and the Cowboys won the turnover battle with only 15 while forcing 17 turnovers.
Asher Fleming had the Cowboy lead with 16 points, shooting 5-10 with two 3-pointers.
Will Bartoszek and
Austin Brewer each scored 10 points for the Cowboys against Willamette.
The Cowboys drop to 4-7 and will travel to play against Redlands at the Las Vegas tournament on Dec. 27 at 10 p.m.
